Bacterial Vaginosis Infection

Bacterial Vaginosis Infection is a common medical condition that many women experience. When a woman has a bacterial vaginosis infection, she produces a vaginal discharge caused from a over balanced production of bad bacteria in the vagina. The bacteria that causes the problem is called Gardnerella vaginitis. What happens is the vagina has several different bacteria growing in it and anytime they start to over produce, you get a nasty bacterial vaginosis infection.

Well, when a woman has a bacterial vaginosis infection, her doctor usually gives her a round of antibiotics  which includes Flagyl (pill) or metronidazole and clindamycin (vaginal creams). Sometimes women with reoccurring infections, are given a second round of antibiotics as these types are resistant to some medications and need another type in order to take care of the problem.

In fact, this condition can cause pregnant women to have a premature birth which can be life threatening for a baby.
